Acupuncture is based on the belief that an energy, or life force, known as Qi, flows through the body in channels called meridians. Practitioners believe that when Qi cannot flow freely through the body, this can cause illness and that acupuncture can restore the flow of Qi and health.

We also offer deep muscle massage and Thermal Design Power lamp sessions to compliment your treatment. TDP lamps are far infrared heating devices used to accelerate the natural healing processes. Far infrared (below visible light spectrum) emissions are thought to penetrate deeply into the body, increasing microcirculation and thus delivering more oxygen and nutrients to injured cells while eliminating cellular waste.

The lamp deeply heats the area being treated without causing burning. It is commonly used on the upper or lower abdomen or back, in combination with needling or on painful areas in the case of injuries, rheumatic and arthritic conditions.

There is evidence that acupuncture has beneficial effects on, among others:

Lower back pain; Dental pain; Headaches and migraine; Osteoarthritis; Addictions; Asthma; Depression; Insomnia; Neck pain; Sciatica; Shoulder pain; Tinnitus; Sports injuries; Joint pain.

You may also wish to try Dry Cupping.  Cupping therapy is an ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin. It is believed this mobilises blood flow in order to promote healing.  According to traditional Chinese medicine cupping improves Qi and can treat respiratory diseases such as the common cold, pneumonia and bronchitis. Cupping also is used on back, neck, shoulder and other musculoskeletal conditions. Please be aware that cupping produces mild bruise-like marks which fade in a few days.
